when the taste was past my lips
my tongue played with moisture unfamiliar
and I thought of you in grace and full of time
you made me sad
called me when I loved you
I still love you
and even when my eyes are masked I see you in a darkness so familiar
so I could touch you
you are precious
make me guilty of being selfish
what made it easy to forget you?
but I never lost you
will never lose you
taste the dirt under my nails
scratched on backs to push you out of me
weigh my sight made heavy on the skin and sex to erase you

It is so difficult to try to erase the love from your heart. Don't know if i'm right but i get from this that you attempted to forget about that person that gave you so much love just to realize that no matter how much you try no matter what you do there will always be a little of that person still inside of you. ANd i think thats beautiful. I love the poem i've had these same thoughts so i kind of can connect. Of course that is if how i'm reading and understading it is right. Just imagine if for every lost love, their was a little scar placed on our heart, how covered it would actually be.
